Shawn West


Born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Shawn West grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. where he enjoyed acting in local regional musical theatre productions. Mr. West has produced over 22 musicals and theatrical productions. He attended the University of Washington, where he majored in classical piano performance.

In 1986, Mr. West moved to Hollywood, CA, to pursue his passion for music. He sang in various rock bands as a singer and musician and founded Sunset Beach Records. Mr. West has produced over 20 albums, including the critically acclaimed instrumental guitar music for the Coldwater Creek (owned by Hong-Kong based Newtimes). He publishes music under the banner of Shawn West Music Corp. (ASCAP).

In 1990, Mr. West became a talent manager and represented Michael Flatley (Riverdance, Lord of the Dance) and the Landers sisters, Audrey and Judy (Dallas, A Chorus Line, B.J. and the Bear, Love Boat).

In 1993, Mr. West joined the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, where he was assigned to work in the television department, led by Jerry Katzman and Sam Haskell. After which, he moved to the motion picture department on the desk of Mike Simpson (Quentin Tarantino). He eventually was assigned to work with Joan Hyler (President, Women In Film), and Lenny Hirshan, Executive Vice President, Worldwide of Motion Pictures. With Mr. Hirshan, he worked daily with WMA clients such as Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Walter Matthau, Sophia Loren, Billy Bob Thornton, and many others.

In 2009, Mr. West entered the tech sector as a developer and distributor of live-streaming technology. He joined The Wayne Agency in 2013 as the Head of Theatrical Talent and enjoys representing established and developmental talent.

In his leisure time, Mr. West continues to play and write music and enjoys traveling. He climbed the Great Wall of China while visiting 5 cities in China during a cultural exchange of filmmakers, sponsored by Beijing Film Studios and the Ministry of Culture, People's Republic of China.
